Home office before and after! ✨ My goal in this

Home office before and after! ✨
My goal in this space was to spend $0. In reality, the cost was about $1,000. 90% of that being the wallpaper cost. But working with @repcolitepaints, I was gifted this beautiful wallpaper, and what a gift it was! It makes this entire room and I couldn’t be happier with it.

The remaining $100 was for the new light, pretty file folders, brass metal sheeting and acrylic mail organizer. I had Amazon gift cards burning a hole in my pocket, so I didn’t spend cash on those either!

So, somehow, I actually did this home office makeover for $0. 🤯 Building the desk out of scraps was a huge part of that (see my last reel for details) and all of the decor I already owned.

I’m so happy with how this space turned out. From orange 70s shag to the cottagecore office of my dreams.

ZERO DOLLAR DESK! 📣
Well dang, I forgot about having to buy the brass sheeting. $16 DOLLAR DESK! 😆

Can you believe this desk was made from scraps? My kids’ old playroom cubbies, the cabinet top from our old dining built ins, and scrap plywood leftover from the renovation for the shelf. I already had the cubby baskets and all the paint, wood glue and nails. I stole the decor from around the house.

The only thing I bought was the brass for the desk feet to class it up a bit. And now I have a completely custom desk with a TON of storage. Bonus: it’s completely able to be disassembled if I ever want to use the cubbies again.

I’m pretty happy with this one. 🙌🏻 I love how much resourcefulness can come from giving myself a zero dollar budget.

Even though I know it’s not realistic, it forces me to think outside the box. If I’d given myself a $200 budget, I would have definitely spent it for the convenience of it. And I would have gotten a desk that wouldn’t suit my needs nearly as much at a lower price point. You can’t buy much for $200 these days. 🫣

Home office desk is complete! I sourced my favorite shelf decor from around the house. But I did buy new desk organizers! I love the acrylic mail sorter and the gorgeous designer file folders.

Never underestimate the power of a quick swap of a light fixture. I love how this one has a soft tone woven shade that compliments the wallpaper so well.

Next step in the project: build a desk out of scraps!

This woven drum shade is so beautiful! It’s under $40 and makes such a difference in the office. Flush mount is perfect for our 8 ft ceilings.

Don’t ever let anyone tell you that a tool that cleans FOR YOU isn’t exciting. 🙌🏻 I received the eufy S1 Pro Vacuum and Mop Combo from @eufyofficial #ad and couldn’t love its cleaning power more.
